{"id":1215,"date":"2020-06-28T10:39:57","date_gmt":"2020-06-28T10:39:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.demo.sstforfun.com\/?p=1215"},"modified":"2020-06-28T10:42:50","modified_gmt":"2020-06-28T10:42:50","slug":"napoleonic-code-1804","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thewiseorb.com\/icse\/2020\/06\/28\/napoleonic-code-1804\/","title":{"rendered":"Napoleonic Code (1804)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The administrative reforms introduced by Napoleon were called as Civil Code of 1804 and also known as Napoleonic Code.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following were the reforms introduced by Napoleonic Code:-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>It did away with all privileges based on birth.<\/li><li>It established equality before the law and secured right to property.<\/li><li>It abolished the feudal system and freed peasants from serfdom and manorial dues.<\/li><li>In the towns, guild restrictions were removed.<\/li><li>Transport and communication systems were improved.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Change in peoples attitude towards French army and Napoleon.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>In the initial stages, French army wherever it went in Europe were welcomed as they considered them as harbingers of liberty.<\/li><li>This enthusiasm soon faded away and people turned hostile towards French armies and Napoleon as there was no political freedom.<\/li><li>Increased taxation and censorships also outweighed the benefits of the administrative changes.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The administrative reforms introduced by Napoleon were called as Civil Code of 1804 and also known as Napoleonic Code.
